CHICAGO (MarketWatch) � Coinstar Inc., NCR Corp., Yum Brands and Coca-Cola Co. are among the stocks that could see active trading on Tuesday.
Coinstar Inc. CSTR �shares were up 10% in after-hours trading. The company late Monday reported fourth-quarter earnings from continuing operations of $31.5 million, or $1 a share, compared with $11.7 million, or 68 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose to $520.5 million from $390.8 million in the same period a year ago. Analysts polled by FactSet Research expected earnings of 65 cents a share on $498.3 million in sales. Coinstar also said its Redbox unit plans to purchase NCR Corp.�s entertainment assets, including DVD kiosks, and will pay up to $100 million for the assets.
NCR Corp. NCR �shares were up 9% in after-hours trading. The company reported earnings in the fourth quarter of 65 cents a share, excluding items, on revenue of $1.64 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet Research had forecast NCR to earn 57 cents a share on $1.59 billion in revenue.
Reuters Yum Brands KFC and Pizza Hut ads in China.Yum Brands YUM �earned $356 million, or 75 cents a share in the fourth quarter, up from $274 million, or 56 cents a share in the same period a year ago, the company said after the closing bell Monday. Revenue was $4.11 billion vs. $3.56 billion. The average estimate of analysts polled by FactSet Research had been for the company to earn 74 cents a share with sales of $4.04 billion. Shares of Yum were up about 2% in after-hours action.
PMC-Sierra Inc. PMCS �on Monday reported a fiscal fourth-quarter profit of 13 cents a share, excluding items, on revenue of $152.6 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet Research had forecast PMC-Sierra to earn 13 cents a share on $155.4 million in revenue.
Coca-Cola KO �is expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 78 cents a share on revenue of $11 billion, according to a consensus poll of analysts by FactSet Research.
Emerson Electric EMR �is expected to post a first-quarter profit of 51 cents a share on revenue of $5.28 billion.
Harman International Industries Inc. HAR �is seen posting second-quarter earnings of 78 cents a share on revenue of $1.08 billion.
Church & Dwight CHD �is seen posting fourth-quarter earnings of 50 cents a share on revenue of $694 million.
Louisiana-Pacific Corp. LPX �is expected to post a fourth-quarter loss of 19 cents a share on revenue of $317.9 million.
Magellan Midstream MMP �is seen posting a fourth-quarter profit of 96 cents a share on revenue of $435.5 million.
Scotts Miracle-Gro SMG �is seen posting a first-quarter loss of $1.21 a share on revenue of $201.5 million.
