Women’s apparel retailer The Buckle (BKE) followed in the positive footsteps of Chicos (CHS) yesterday, reporting Q3 sales rose almost 10%, to $231.2 million, matching the average estimate of analyst, while profit per share of 71 cents beat by a penny. The stock rose 43 cents, or 1.5% in early trading, at $29.49.
Upscale household furnishing Williams-Sonoma (WSM) saw Q3 sales fall 3% to $729 million but still beat the average $686 million estimate easily. Profit of 16 cents per share was triple what analysts we looking for.The shares rose 77 cents, or 3.7%, to $21.80.
Sears Holdings (SHLD) is on the march today — way to go, Eddie Lampert — up $3.33, or 4.4%, at $78.80, after the company reported a net loss of 81 cents per share, much better than the $1.09 expected, as Q3 sales fell 4.4% to $10.2 billion, comfortably ahead of the $9.9 billion expected.
Spoiling the party, Ross Stores (ROST) Q3 revenue rose 12% to $1.74 billion, yielding profit per share of 84 cents, both in line with estimates. The stock fell $1.42, or 3%, to $44.65.
